Data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) can not only be of value for electricity grid operators and the power system, but are also necessary for the successful transformation to climate neutrality. Data analysis and AI will continue to gain importance to make the increasing complexity of network planning, operation and maintenance manageable and to enable efficient processes.

In the Data4Grid project by dena's Future Energy Lab, distribution system operators worked together with start-ups to advance specific use cases for data analyses and AI in the electricity grid. The experiences and findings from this cooperation are summarised in this final report and are accompanied by a project report prepared by umlaut energy GmbH and a scientific report by Fraunhofer IEE.
