Digital machine identities in the energy sector are one of the major missing pieces to achieve the energy transition and ultimately carbon neutrality. The energy system of the future will be characterized by millions of decentrally organized and small energy production facilities. In order to ensure safe and reliable data transfer and communication between these facilities, digital machine identities are of major relevance. The following report marks the conclusion of the first pilot project of the Future Energy Lab and shows how to fill in the missing piece of digital machine identities.
